JERSEY FAMILY HISTORY FESTIVAL POSTPONED

Jersey Heritage regrets to announce the postponement of the Jersey Family History Festival, which was due to take place at Jersey Archive this coming weekend, 20-22 March.

The latest Benest and Syvret 'What's Your Street's Occupation Story?' talk, which was due to take place as part of the weekend has also been cancelled.

March 13th

On March 12th, the Société Jersiaise announced its decision to restrict access to its building. Its room hire facilities to the general public have been cancelled until further notice. It also urges its Sections to postpone their meetings.

Therefore I am sorry to tell you that the 2020 AGM on 30th March will be postponed. We intend to hold the AGM with a shortened agenda to pass the formal business before our next Members’ meeting. We hope that this meeting will be able to take place on Monday 27th April 2020 at the Société Jersiaise as normal.

On Friday 24th and Saturday 25th January 2020 at the Jersey Library, the Jersey Library is holding another Local History Fayre and has invited CIFHS to attend again.

On Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd March 2020 at the Jersey Archive, the Family History Festival will have a military theme.

Family Tree Live 2020 on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th April 2020. Once again the Family History Federation is organizing this event for family history societies which will take place at Alexandra Palace, London N22 7AY.

The Quaker Family History Society has issued an email regarding their Research Grants for 2020

QFHS invites applications for a Margaret Bennett Research Award to support research into any aspect of Quaker family history in the British Isles.

Grants, to a maximum of £1500, may relate to the costs of travel, reproduction of materials, and/or publication.
